Mosquito & Agricultural Pest Control
“We don’t spray. We target.”
Project Summary
This project proposes the development of a bio-inspired autonomous aerial platform modelled on dragonfly flight, designed to deliver non-chemical mosquito suppression and freshwater ecosystem monitoring.
Unlike conventional drones or chemical interventions, the platform integrates behavioural pest disruption with real-time environmental sensing, enabling targeted ecological management without harm to non-target species.
"An autonomous aerial predator surrogate"

Problem Statement
-
Chemical pest control causes resistance, ecosystem damage, and public health concerns
-
Existing UAVs are noisy, ecologically disruptive, and poorly suited to low-altitude environmental interaction
Innovation
-
Bio-mimetic flapping-wing UAV with natural acoustic and visual signatures
-
Modular payload architecture pest control
-
Data-driven ecological intervention, not blanket treatment
-
disrupts mosquito mating and feeding behaviour
-
reduces pest density via harassment, confusion, and targeted removal
-
works with ecosystems instead of poisoning them
